I asked for a reference and ended up with a job

15 years ago, I asked for a reference and ended up with a job.

I was contemplating leaving my employer and thought that securing a reference from Lonsdale Solutions, having previously worked with the team, would be a fantastic boost to my job hunt. Having gathered the courage to ask for a reference, I received a response for which I'll always be grateful: “… we could do that, but how about you come and work for us instead?

So, did I make the right choice? Absolutely.

I've had the chance to work with and learn from some of the best. The quality of the Lonsdale Solutions team and the opportunity to observe, learn from, and work with outstanding project professionals was a key incentive to join.

I haven’t had a role I didn’t like – they've always been a balance between challenge, comfort, and achievement. And the types of opportunity available to a high quality, niche provider are always going to be interesting and challenging.

Over the years, I've learned some of my own lessons, gathered some experience, and been steered in the right direction. I now feel that I'm approaching the level of expertise I had aspired to when I first joined, and that I have some practical knowledge to share.

So, with each engagement I try to do that. It's an important part of the Lonsdale Solutions culture that we support each other, our customers, and the project teams that we are part of. We strengthen what's already working, aiming for each Lonsdale Solutions team member to be better than when they arrived, and each customer better than we started.

We trust in our model and know that it works. Reflecting on the last 15 years, I can’t help but be proud of our team and the role they’ve played in delivering our clients' oftentimes most significant, complex, or high priority initiatives.

We’re always happy to share our thoughts and expertise – and I’m always open to questions or a conversation about what drives us at Lonsdale Solutions.
